I really don't like strep!

Ok, I've had more cases of documented strep throat than any human should ever have, but YIKES! I'm sick of it! Apparently, my kids are going to be "strep kids" too. Ugh! Jackson came down it with on Thursday. I couldn't get an appt until Friday, so he went on Amox Friday afternoon and was out of school that day. We thought all was well for their birthday when we visiting my family. Apparently not! Monday, around 1:30 pm, I get a call from my sister saying that my neice had just tested positive. So, apparently, one of my kids had it and I didn't know it. I was in denial until I went to school for their birthday snack and looked at Collin's legs. They were COVERED in a rash.

Now, I had heard, in therory, about a strep rash, but had never actually seen one. Well, let me tell you, it's a tough looking thing. Apparently, it doesn't itch or anything though. Collin's only symptom is the rash -- no sore throat, no upset stomach, no headache, etc. This is a version of strep that i NEVER had! But, here are some pics, for those who might need to identify it later in life.

So, Collin was out of school today. Lets hope that everyone is back tomorrow.
Couple that with Jackson's emotional meltdown and stomach ache from the anxiety of going to school, Collin heartache that we left Jackson at school crying, and you have an emotional day. Collin was so sweet though. He dictated a note to me that we had to take back to school to be delivered to Jackson: "Dear Jackson, I love you so much. I hope this note fills your heart with love. I will always take care of you. I love you! Your brother, Collin." I could have cried at that point!
